Behind the wide back of the Hondsbossche Zeewering lies Petten. This village lies directly on the dunes, surrounded by forests, with a fairy-tale small lake hidden deep within. The beach of Petten is wide and from the panoramic garden you have a beautiful view of the village, the beach and the sea.

On the beach you will also find the Pine Village; a beautiful monument with a great story. The children can swing here with the sea in the background. The Palendorp is a monument that symbolizes an old village that disappeared completely into the sea from 1792. This beautiful work of art consists of 160 poles from six to 12 meters high. The poles are in the shape of 10 houses and a church. This spot is very photogenic.

Besides beach and dunes, Petten is known for its flowering tulip fields where, from early April to mid-May, the fields take on all the colors of the rainbow. At Petten begins the largest continuous flower bulb area in the world, which extends to Den Helder.
