If you really want to discover Holland by bike or on foot, Schagen is the place to be. Schagen Marktstad is an ideal starting and finishing point for a tour towards the beach and dunes, along vast meadows or bulb fields. The Westfriese Omringdijk is also beautiful for a cycling or walking tour. This monumental dike is no less than 126 kilometers long and connects Schagen with cities such as Hoorn, Alkmaar and Medemblik.
