Burgerbrug

In the oldest reclamation area of North Holland (the Zijpepolder) lies the picturesque village of Burgerbrug. The historic core is dominated by the old farm Starre Kroon and a lovely little church with small stained glass windows. Around the village are the pyramids of the polder: the famous North Holland cheese-cover farmhouses. Every year the villagers pack in well-organized festivals, such as the Annual Fair in summer, the fair in September and the grandly celebrated Carnival (Burgerbrug is a Catholic village). And at a distance of about three kilometers the beach of Petten beckons.
