West Frisian Market - Day of Ring Stitching

Ringstepping around the church. The absolute highlight of the season. The most beautiful harnesses come from all over the Netherlands competing for the title of 'best ringstealer'. In addition, there is competition in various categories for the prizes for the cleanest outfit and the best running horse. There is also a special prize for the most original combination.

9 a.m. Harnessing and harnessing the horses in the Music Garden behind Museum Vreeburg.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Book, curio and cream market on New Street.    

10 a.m. West Frisians gather at the corner of New Low Side/Stationsweg (café Spoorzicht) for the parade.

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The tower on the Market Square can be climbed for a small fee, in the tower the exhibition; "Time goes fast" with many historical photos of West Frisian Folklore.

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Woodturner in the forge at Vreeburg Museum Farm.

10:45 a.m. Start of parade from the New Low Side.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. N.H. Church in Market Square organ playing by Pieter Rynja.

11:25 a.m. Performance by the children's dance group on the church platform in Market Square.

11:45 a.m. Performance by the West Frisian Dance Group on the church platform in Market Square.

11:45 a.m. Children's bread meal in the Marketplace.

12 p.m. - 1 p.m. The farrier shoes horses in front of Museum Farm Vreeburg on the Loet.

1:15 - 3:00 p.m. Writing group Hoogkarspel in the coffee room of the NH church on Market Square. They sing and tell anecdotes in beautiful unctuous West Frisian.

± 1 p. m. Start of ringsteading on the course around the church on Market Square.

± 4:30 p.m. Prize-giving ceremony in Building 5 in Market Square....
