West Frisian Market - Day of the Animal

Animal Day.

In the marketplace, you can go see animal stalls with animals.

It is a day of living heritage. Some cattle with calves are coming now, and sheep are being clipped at the Posthorn/Stiel corner.

Spinsters: The spinsters are present in the Nieuwstraat near the entrance of Makado, where they show how spun wool is processed. With this spun wool socks and nets are also knitted, also the ladies are carding wool.

Petty livestock: For the little ones, there is a stable with bunnies.

Starting at noon, Ben the Banjoman will also ride his horse in the marketplace.

9 a.m. Harnessing and harnessing the horses in the Music Garden behind Museum Vreeburg.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. Book/curiosities/cream market on New Street.

10:45 a.m. Start of parade from the New Low Side.

11 a.m.-1 p.m. N.H. Church on Market organ playing by Hanneke Muntjewerf and Ronald van der Veen.

11:25 a.m. Children's dance group performance on the church platform in Market Square.

11:45 a.m. Children's bread meal in the Marketplace.

11:45 a.m. Performance West Frisian dance group on church platform in Market Square.

12 p.m. Sheep clipping at the corner Posthorn/Stiel in Market Square.

12 p.m. - 1 p.m. The farrier shoes horses in front of Museum Farm Vreeburg on the Loet.

12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Ben the Banjoman on his horse.

1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Skroif group Allegaartje in the coffee room of the church on Market Square. They sing and tell anecdotes in beautiful unctuous West Frisian.
